2004 Estate Pinot Noir

2006 Estate Pinot Noir, Ingrid's Vineyard

Our tiny (one acre) Ingrid’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, planted at the entrance to Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley, is typical of the newest thinking in terms of climate and location of the highest quality Pinot Noir vineyards in California. Only ten miles from the sea, our vineyard enjoys sunny weather with cool ocean breezes throughout the summer and fall seasons. This produces a Pinot of great intensity and well-defined fruit expression.

In 2006 we had a cool, wet spring followed by a moderate summer. Fortunately, we enjoyed a warm, sunny fall, which allowed us to extend the hang-time bringing our grapes to perfect ripeness. The result is a Pinot with beautifully deep color and complex aromas of ripe black cherry and plum. The flavors are intense and focused; exhibiting wonderful flavors of ripe red fruits graced with notes of spice and toasted oak. The full and silky texture extends throughout its beautifully lingering finish..
