Our tiny (one acre) Ingrid’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, planted at the entrance to Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley, is typical of the newest thinking in terms of climate and location of the highest quality Pinot Noir vineyards in California. Only ten miles from the sea, our vineyard enjoys sunny weather with cool ocean breezes throughout the summer and fall seasons. This produces a Pinot of great intensity and well-defined fruit expression.
2007 was a wonderful vintage for wines in the Central Coast. We enjoyed a long growing season with moderate temperatures and small yields in the vineyards which produced beautifully ripened fruit with intense varietal characters.
Our 2007 Ingrid’s Pinot shows enticing red berry and cherry aromas with notes of spice and cola. Bright ripe red fruit flavors dominate the palate with subtle oak and mineral notes lingering on the lengthy finish. This Pinot really shows its youth and will age beautifully for several years in a proper cellar.
