The 2010 Chardonnay Sierra Mar Vineyard bristles on the palate with lovely saline notes that frame the fruit nicely. The mix of Dijon and Wente clones results in a beautifully balanced wine that stands apart stylistically from most other wines being made from this recently developed site because of its greater textural richness.

Sweet, smoky oak and ultra ripe flavors of tropical fruits mark this Chardonnay. It’s strong and obvious in its appeal, but bright acidity and a stony minerality ground it, and the finish is thoroughly dry. – S. H. 9/1/2012
