This gently sloping vineyard in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands has been planted by Gary Franscioni, a fourth generation grower, with two Chardonnay clones selected at the Dijon research station in France. Rosella’s has become known as one of California’s premier Pinot Noir vineyards, but Gary has preserved this block for his Chardonnay, which is also producing excellent results.
2009 provided us with beautiful weather throughout the summer with a warm sunny September. Our 2009 Rosella’s Chardonnay exhibits aromas of apple and pear accented by notes of spices and vanilla. On the palate we find delicious flavors of apples and cream with cinnamon and caramel nuances.
