2008 Vineyard Designate Pinor Noir, Tondré Vineyard

The Tondré vineyard is planted in the middle of the renowned Santa Lucia Highlands. The grower, Joe Alarid, has planted a selection of clones from the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France. In 2008, we selected grapes from three separate blocks planted with clones 667, 777 and 115. Each clone was hand harvested and fermented separately in small fermenters using specially selected yeasts.

The 2008 vintage is proving to be superb. We can see this in the beautifully deep ruby color of this fine Pinot. A perfume of ripe red fruits and spices fills the glass along with hints of toasty oak. The flavors of cherries and red plums are very rich and the lush texture is beautifully balanced with a crisp acidity. This is beautiful Pinot will age gracefully for several years to come.
