Sourced from California’s most celebrated cool-climate growing regions, our Pinot Noir represents a portfolio shaped by decades of vineyard partnership and single-site precision. Bernardus Winery in Monterey County has worked alongside dedicated growers to produce Pinot Noir expressions that reflect the distinct character of each named growing site, harvest after harvest. Every bottle begins with a philosophy that prizes precision over yield and terroir over trend.
What Type of Pinot Noir Do We Have Available?
Across four named growing sites selected for the unique character they bring to the glass, our Pinot Noir is built on cool-climate precision and long-standing grower relationships. Our cool-climate Pinot Noir develops layered complexity through the region’s coastal fog patterns and wide diurnal temperature swings that slow ripening and concentrate flavor. The full story of the estate behind these wines begins with our winery. Our Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir reflects the elevation and well-drained soils that set this appellation apart, with growers setting aside dedicated blocks specifically for this estate. Harvest at each site runs from late August through Thanksgiving, with multiple passes ensuring only the ripest fruit from each row reaches the cellar. Our Lucia Pinot Noir captures a specific expression of this terroir, vinified to emphasize the delicacy and depth that make this growing site exceptional. Those ready to bring these wines home can order wine online from the full estate selection. Drawing from the longer growing season and cool afternoons, the climate distinguishes this SLH Pinot Noir from warmer regional alternatives. Representing the most select barrels of each vintage, our reserve Pinot Noir is held for additional development before release.
