We are very proud of the results of the improvements our winemaking and vineyard teams have put in place to insure every bottle of our Estate Marinus wine represents the very best expression of this special vineyard.
Each block of Marinus is farmed individually and picked at its perfect moment of ripeness. All grapes are hand sorted and de-stemmed before being fermented in small individual fermenters. Each one is punched down or pumped over twice daily throughout the lengthy fermentation process. The fermenters are then gently pressed off and the wines transferred to small French oak barrels. There they are aged for 18 months, after which the final blend is created.
The robe of our 2015 is a deep ruby-red. The aromas exhibit scents of candied cranberry and plum, accented with baking spices. The flavors are intense and well-structured insuring a long bottle ageing potential, much like a fine Bordeaux.
